LEGO Mindstorms
The Lego Robotics programme is designed to develop LEGO® Robotics proficiency in children. Using the LEGO® Education NXT and EV3 robotics kit, students will learn to build and programme robots using various sensors and programming automation.
In each lesson, students will work independently to complete robot missions and learning objectives that will prepare them for the rigors of LEGO® robotics competitions. On completion of this programme, students will be encouraged to join National Robotics Competitions.
Designed for primary school students who are aged between 9-13 years old. RM120 per month. Conducted offline at Pusat Kemahiran IRC, Seremban.
Python (Beginner)
Coupled with a variety of text-based question-solving tasks, students will be inspired and motivated to read, analyse and construct simple programs by:
- understanding Python syntax
- creating and accessing variables for storing and manipulating data
- making simple decisions with conditionals like if-statements
- repeating instructions through loops like the while statements
- using simple functions
At the end of this course, students will sit for the Python Certified Entry Level exam conducted by Python Institute. This course is prepared for secondary school students aged between 13 – 17 years old. Conducted on-line. RM120 per month.
Python (Intermediate)
This course focuses on the Object-Oriented Programming approach to Python, and shows that the individual is familiar with the more advanced aspects of programming, including the essentials of OOP, the essentials of modules and packages, the exception handling mechanism in OOP, advanced operations on strings, list comprehensions, lambdas, generators, closures, and file processing.
PCAP™ certification gives its holders confidence in their programming skills, helps them stand out in the job market, and gives them a head start on preparing for and advancing to the professional level.
At the end of this course, students will sit for the Python Certified Entry Level exam conducted by Python Institute. This course is prepared for secondary school students aged between 15 – 24 years old. Conducted on-line. RM130 per month.
Electronics (Arduino)
Arduino is an open-source platform used for building electronics projects. It is programmed to sense and control the objects in the physical world. This consists of both a physical programmable circuit board and a piece of software, for example, running on the pc, wanting to write and upload computer code to the physical board.
Designed for secondary school students who are aged between 13-17 years old. RM120 per month. Conducted on-line and students get to access the course materials on g-robotechasia.com.
Creative Coding
Scratch has a child-friendly, colourful, drag-and-drop interface that makes programming more intuitive for younger learners. The content is designed to be fun! We learn to create animations and cool effects and we create clones of some of the most popular games: Flappy Bird, Duck Hunt or Pac-Man. The games are handpicked to optimize learning computer science topics while having fun along the way. I will also update the course on a regular basis with new content – and challenges!
This course is designed for
- parents or teachers who want to give their children the best skills and most fun
- kids and beginners who want to learn to code games
- anyone new to programming who doesn’t know where to start
This course will be taught for 5 – 6 months. RM100 per month. Conducted on-line and students get to access the course materials on g-robotechasia.com. The course is regularly updated with new material, tips and tricks that you can use in your games and projects!
Microbit with Scratch
The micro:bit is an educational and creative tool to encourage young people (children and adults) to get actively involved in writing software for computers and making circuit connections. It can help give young people the knowledge and skills to move from being consumers of digital information, to being designers and creators of new tools to enhance learning, to solve problems or just to have fun, enabling them to exemplify the spirit of innovation and towards building a Smart Nation in the 21st Century.
Each participant will get a complete set of Micro:bit with electronic components to learn about the hardware and how to program it using the block editor (visual programming). No coding or technical experience needed – this course is suitable for everyone.
This course will be taught for 6 – 8 months. RM120 per month. Conducted on-line and students get to access the course materials on g-robotechasia.com.
3D Design using TinkerCad
Tinkercad is a popular platform for creating models for 3D printing as well as an entry-level introduction to constructive solid geometry in school. This course is designed for kids and students between 9 and 15 years old. Parents can also join in to learn this fantastics 3D CAD software.
This course will be taught for 4 – 6 months. RM100 per month. Conducted on-line and students get to access the course materials on g-robotechasia.com.
